Our Bar Harbor cruises are clean and family-oriented and the Acadian & Eden Star are pet-friendly! The boats offer a small snack bar, restrooms, and the large boats also have a heated, indoor cabin. However, please bring a warm jacket or sweater with you on all of our cruises, as temperatures on the water are cooler than they are on shore. Facing my fears to experience everything I have always wanted to do. We saw whales, seal, bald eagles and amazing scenery. This trip includes an extended viewing of Petit Manan Lighthouse on one of only seven islands in Maine where endangered Atlantic puffins nest.

We believe strongly in protecting the whales we love and the many we know as individuals and by name. Our captains, crews and naturalists are expertly trained and promote responsible whale watching and conservation efforts on our Bar Harbor tours. Binoculars and/or a long zoom lens are recommended for viewing wildlife such as seals and eagles. We’ll cruise past some of the most breathtaking scenery in New England. From the shear granite cliffs to smooth rock beaches, you’ll see a rugged maritime landscape etched by glaciers and battered by sea & wind. The afternoon trip is narrated by our professional narrators. Travel aboard the M/V Miss Samantha 9 miles out from Bar Harbor, to visit one of the crown jewels of Acadia National Park. Explore the 130-acre island, Gilley family farmstead, and Baker Island Lighthouse.
A very reasonably priced and wonderful afternoon. The Acadian has a light (cash only) snack bar, clean restrooms and an indoor heated cabin. However, dress warmly as it is MUCH cooler on the water, even on a hot, sunny day! The Acadian is handicap-accessible and pet-friendly to friendly pets. See the Great Harbor of Mount Desert, visit a fishing community on Islesford, and visit the cliffs of Valley Cove in Somes Sound Fjord.

The host was informative, had a nice sense of humor, and was always willing to answer questions. The crew was fantastic and went out of their way to find whales.

The boat itself was stable, clean, and well maintained. It had flaps to protect from high winds and sea spray, but you are allowed to open the flaps as you want. I am someone who can get seasick easily, but I did not feel even the bit queasy. Kids and adults alike enjoyed this tour and it was very interactive.

Watch our experienced fisherman haul in lobster traps, then head off to a small island to view seals basking on the rocks. This cruise was very enjoyable and accompanied by a knowledgeable and interesting ranger. Saw white tailed eagle, seals and harbor porpoises on our trip. We have four boats, the Acadian, the Islander the Eden Star AND our six-passenger private charter boat — the Rambler.
